Bridging starts with a recognition of common humanity - in fact, even agreeing to disagree is a good outcome if both parties feel they have been heard - and haven't been dehumanized in the discussion (and gee doesn't the anonymity of some social media platforms lend itself to dehumanization!) A bit of respect goes a long way.Ģ. I reckon dogs do it pretty well - but for us humans I think of a 3 step approach.ġ.
